Unarmed Security Guard Certification
Unarmed Security Officer/Guard Requirements for the State of Tennessee Class cost: $75.00 (4 hours) Training to become a Tennessee certified unarmed security officer includes an examination covering specific subject materials. Armed Security Guard Re-Certification
ARMED RE-CERTIFICATION Class cost: $75.00 (4 hours) A re-certification for a Tennessee armed security officer must occur every two years. Every two (2) years armed security guards must complete 4 hours of refresher training and re-qualify in the use of a firearm by achieving a minimum of 70% on any silhouette target course approved by the commissioner prior to the renewal of their guard registration. Basic Handgun
Basic Handgun 3 hours $60 Upon completion of this class, students will be able to safely load and unload, identify and operate a variety of handguns. Students will have a basic foundation in marksmanship skills that they can use to place shots on target. Students will be able to safely and effectively fix weapons malfunction, clean and store their guns while implementing a plan for their family’s safety when a gun is present in the home.
